Madhuri looks like godess Durga in the poster
The queen of Bollywood is back and how! The poster of the Madhuri Dixit-starrer, Gulaab Gang is out and we love how the actress is portrayed in it. The movie, which is all set to release on March 7, 2014 (a day prior to Women’s Day), is based on women empowerment. Madhuri Dixit plays the gang leader in the film, which is inspired by the women vigilante group Gulab Gang fighting against social injustice.
And that's not all. Did you know Juhi Chawla will be working with Madhuri Dixit for the first time in this movie? The actresses were contemporaries and debuted only two years apart and yet never shared screen space in the span of 27 years.
The poster shows Madhuri dressed in a pink sari with a pink churidaar underneath. Holding a sickle and an axe in either hand, the actress is mid-air ready to strike her enemies. With her eyes wide and an a snarl on her face, doesn't Madhuri Dixit remind you of Godess Durga about to slay the demons?
This poster is bound to leave a mark on the audiences’ minds. Madhuri has always been seen as the demure girl-next-door in her movies, but this poster shows her as a fearless gang leader and the slayer of evil. We can’t wait to see the aggressive side of the 46-year-old actress in Gulaab Gang.
The actress has performed her own action sequences in the movie and has also trained extensively under Shaolin master Shifu Kanishka Sharma for her role. Directed by debutant Soumik Sen, Gulaab Gang stars Divya Jagdale, Priyanka Bos and Tannishtha Chatterjee too.
