It’s very easy to be a good mom, but extremely difficult to be a bad one. In other words, as long as the kids are pleased, you are a ‘Good Momma’ according to them. And, you can easily fulfil their simple demands that are more or less within the repertoire of what they see around. They could at best range from chocolates, candies, junk food, cars, toys, books or some more TV time.
Being a ‘Bad Momma’ essentially means saying No to such demands. When I hear kids tell their parents that they are the worst parents ever, or they are too strict and their friends’ parents are better, I wonder to myself what triggered these accusations. And then I get into the introspection phase of why they, just like me, have been put into the ‘bad parent’ box by children. Here is probably why...
